        The development of high tech invention has come to the point where oldest and the youngest had bowed  to their cellphones. With this in mind, generation from generation of people have their neck chained by the sensation of mobile phones. 


        Stressed by Datareportal Digital 2024: Global Overview Report and mobile application Sleep Cycle that Filipinos spend almost nine hours and half of the day looking at the blue light emit from a cellphone. With this amount of time spend from looking down to a mobile phone, this could result to many health risk factors. 


        Furthermore, sleep disorders are one of the health risk factors which could be developed with the excessive use of mobile phones. Highlighted by Dr. Jimmy Chang, Vice President of the Philippine Society of Sleep Medicine (PSSM) that "More Filipinos have sleep apnea today". This poses the risks of quality and healthy life of every Filipinos. 


       Social interactions between people are essential to the life of an individual to have companionship with one another but with the influence of cell phones, it is not possible to have steady and sensible conversation with a soul anymore. With the sound of ringing coming from a phone, it would create an  interruption that echoes to the mind of a person. Underscored by Massachusetts Institute of Technology, sociologist Sherry Turkle said that we lose our ability to have an in-depth, more natural way of having a conversation, alternating the field of our social interactions in a worrying state. 


       These new devices are more than just a simple invention. It is a complex gadget that could make you addicted like a smoke of a cigarette. Highlighted by the Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA) that more than 50 million Filipinos have access to the internet. The data itself underlines that almost half of the nation's population have acquired the craze of the internet, allowing many individuals to spend their whole life being a slave to their devices. 


       Every touch of your screen spends a day, a week and a month. Cell phone has been attached to the lives of every individuals. Despite the unfortunate slash of reality, It is time to open your eyes and look up at the sky, see the world around you and change it for the better good.
